The Transfăgărășan is a mountain road in Romania, crossing the Southern Carpathians between the highest peaks of the Făgăraș Mountains. Stretching 151 km, it was constructed between 1970 and 1974. The road reaches an altitude of 2,042 meters at its highest point, near the Bâlea Lake area.

It features numerous hairpin turns, tunnels, and viaducts. The road is typically open from late June to early November due to snowfalls. It connects the regions of Transylvania and Wallachia, offering scenic views of glacial lakes and dense forests.
