More about Silfra diving

Silfra was formed in 1789 by an earthquake and is continuously shaped by tectonic movements. The water is fed by glacial meltwater from Langjökull, filtered through porous lava for decades, resulting in its exceptional clarity. Accessible year-round, it offers equipment rentals and guided tours for divers and snorkelers. The water temperature stays between 2°C and 4°C.
