More about Salto Angel

Discovered by Westerners in 1933 and named after American aviator Jimmie Angel, Salto Angel is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its remote location requires access by air to nearby Canaima, followed by a riverboat and hiking journey. The falls are part of the Guiana Shield, one of the world's oldest geological formations.
