Rajgad Fort

Rajgad Fort is a hill fort located 60 km southwest of Pune, India. It was the capital of the Maratha Empire under Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for several years. The fort spans over 40 km in perimeter and sits at an elevation of 1,376 meters above sea level.

Built in 1490, Rajgad Fort features three ridges and a central plateau known as Balekilla. Visitors can access the fort via several trekking routes, with Pali Darwaja being a popular entry point.
