Constructed in 1558 by Captain Ivan Lenković, Nehaj Fortress served as a defensive structure for the Uskoks, a group of Christian refugees resisting Ottoman advances. It has a rectangular shape with a flat roof and was strategically positioned to oversee the surrounding territory. Visitors can explore the interior and enjoy views of the Adriatic Sea. The fortress is accessible by road and is a short walk from the center of Senj. It is open to the public year-round.
