Hamilton Pool Preserve

Hamilton Pool Preserve, located 23 miles west of Austin, Texas, features a natural swimming pool and waterfall formed by the collapse of an underground riverbed. The waterfall has a height of approximately 50 feet, pouring into the pool which spans around 232 acres of protected area.

The preserve was established in 1985 to protect the region's unique flora and fauna. The pool is encircled by limestone cliffs and is a result of thousands of years of geological erosion. Visitors can access the site year-round, but permits are required. A trail leads from the parking area to the pool, approximately a quarter-mile in length.
