More about Grjotagja

Grjotagja was formed by volcanic activity and features unique geological formations. In the 1970s, volcanic eruptions increased the water temperature, making it unsuitable for bathing for many years. Visitors can access the cave easily from the nearby Ring Road. Today, while bathing is discouraged, it remains a site of interest for its geothermal properties and cinematic appearances, such as in the popular series filmed in the area.
