
Djúpalónssandur
Djúpalónssandur is a black pebble beach located on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in western Iceland. Known for its dramatic rock formations and the remains of a shipwreck, the beach features a series of smooth pebbles and is flanked by rugged cliffs, making it a notable geological site.

Historically, Djúpalónssandur was used as a fishing base, and visitors can see four lifting stones once used by fishermen to test their strength. The remains of a British trawler wreck from 1948 are also scattered along the beach. Accessible via a short walking path, the area is part of Snæfellsjökull National Park. Caution is advised due to strong waves.
