Cinque Terre

Cinque Terre is a coastal region in northwest Italy's Liguria region, encompassing five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. Known for its rugged cliffs and Mediterranean beaches, the area is part of a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1997.

The villages of Cinque Terre date back to the late medieval period, with Manarola being one of the oldest. The region is accessible via trains, ferries, and hiking trails connecting the villages. The beaches are characterized by pebbly and rocky shores, with Monterosso featuring the largest sandy beach. The area is also part of the Cinque Terre National Park, established in 1999, covering 38.6 square kilometers.
