More about Blue Lagoon

The Blue Lagoon was established in 1992 and is situated within a lava field. Its milky blue waters are rich in silica and sulfur, contributing to its unique color. The spa is accessible by car and offers amenities such as changing facilities, a restaurant, and a hotel. The location is a result of the Svartsengi geothermal power plant discharges, combining natural and man-made elements.
